Exhibitions

Since 1950, echoing industry, many artists, designers and architects have investigated the possibilities offered by “pneumatics”. At once a movable and modular piece of architecture, a versatile object with shapes and colours reflecting the imagery of Pop Art, inflatables also carry a critical, political and/or environmental perspective for such artists as Graham Stevens, Yves Klein, Hans Haacke, Otto Piene and the architects from UFO-Projects.
Inflatables are inherently filled with breath (pneuma in Greek), which is a human element, tightly linked to the living and the subject of this exhibition.
